At approximately 12:42 am on Friday, February 7, Orange Police were notified by Yale New Haven Hospital that a 34-year-old male shooting victim had been brought to the emergency department via private car. A witness with the victim told security that the shooting incident occurred at Top Quality Vibez nightclub, 501 Boston Post Road, in Orange. Orange police officers were dispatched to the area and found blood and spent shell casings near the door to the club, which was closed and locked. The area was secured, and detectives were sent to the scene and the hospital to assume the investigation.
Evidence was secured at the scene of the crime and from the victim's personal effects at the hospital. The investigation initially showed that there were many patrons at the Top Quality Vibez club when the shooting occurred. Yet, there was not a single 911 call or other notification to the police or emergency responders, and the club owner has not responded to numerous contact attempts by our detectives. The shooter in this case has not yet been identified. The victim is still being treated and remains in critical condition.
