DEEP and Police Warn Against Wooster Island Trespassing

Wooster Island in the Housatonic River has recently become a nuisance to area residents due to trespassers camping, drinking, and playing loud music. It has also been the site of recent boat crashes due to unsafe operation. The island is PRIVATE PROPERTY, and the owner has stated that no one has permission to be there.

We have partnered with DEEP and the Shelton CT Police Department to take enforcement action to address this ongoing problem. If you're a boater on the Housatonic, please note that this island is off-limits to trespassers.
